I bought this saw for my husband because I felt he needed a lighter weight saw since he uses one quite a bit on the farm and he isn’t getting any younger. He immediately tried out the saw (he was used to a 21″ cutting bar) and loeved it. To use his words”That saw cut through those trees like butter. He used it to clear fallen trees off our 375 acre farm and to do the “gin” work around our home. We had a very bad ice storm last winter and had many down trees to saw up to be moved. He loves the power and how easy it starts. He said to rate this 5 stars at least!

Which chainsaw is better and why for 1 ac forested lot? – Husqvarna, Poulan, Echo, Homelite, Sthl,?
Sure pick Stihl. Even for someone who knows nothing about chainsaws, that brand just appears to be superior. My request is not Husqvarna Chainsaw Logging to simply pick the best but rather to understand why one is better than the other. After all, machining of the components and motor technology are not what one would view as new stuff.ThanksThanks Cat and Summer for your insight. I have also learned that both Stihl and Husq have much bigger engines (more powerful and heavier). It makes sense that the wear and tear would be greater on a Poulan than on a Stihl/Husq. … but for third-half the price …

Guys, be honest with yourselves: how are you really going to use a chainsaw? If you’re eyeing a high-end Husqvarna or Echo because that’s what the lumberjacks and arborists use, I hear you. I love pro-grade tools, too. With chainsaws, though, you don’t necessarily get what you pay for.I’ve used gas chainsaws. They’re great for felling, limbing and bucking whole trees in places where electricity is unavailable or inconvenient. These days, though, I use a chainsaw no more than once or twice a year, usually for some little job that’s just barely beyond the capabilities of a bow saw. When those jobs come up, I can whip out my electric Poulan, finish the work, and put the saw away before you’ve even gotten the choke set on your gas saw. That’s not to say that this saw won’t handle a big job. It will. I had a couple of huge oaks taken down last winter, and saved a bunch of money by telling the arborists to do a “cut and run” – just drop the trees, chip the small brush, and leave the big logs

Poulan pro wood shark -bigger guide bar?-?
Is it possible to put a bigger guide bar on my poulan Poulan Chainsaw Carburetor Rebuild pro wood shark chainsaw? I heard it would burn up the carburetor if I attempt to, will it? It currently is equipped with the standard 14″ bar, if I can go bigger, how much, maybe only a 16″?

I bought this saw today in order to clear out a couple of trees that fell in a storm last night. I’ve never owned a chainsaw before and I am the first to admit that I know nothing about them. I had not read any reviews and only picked this one because of the price. I got home took it out of the box followed the quick setup instructions and started cutting. This saw did everything I could have hoped that it would do. My father-in-law, who has owned a few saws of his own, was also very impressed. Being the first time I’ve ever cute trees, I made a beginers mistake and got the chain bound in the process of getting out the chain was pulled loose. I can’t imagin having to use a tool to retighten the chain, this was so easy. It did seem to take a few more pulls to start than what I would have expected but nothing bad (maybe 12-15 pulls). All-in-all this is the best chainsaw I’ve ever owned, at least after my first day of use. Now I just need to find more trees to cut.

What year was this chainsaw built?
I have a Husqvarna 350 chainsaw with a broken bar adjuster screw. I’d like to order a new Husqvarna Chainsaw Rebuild one, but there appears to be a few different styles of this model, dependent on when it was manufactured. It’s a model 350, 52cc, with the serial # 2HVXS C525RB . How can I tell the year of mfr from this serial #? Thanks for your attention.

I use this in my NH home on trees which I clear for expanding my daylily farm. I looked through the many options and bought this due to the reviews and the reputation of the company. But beware. It took seven hours of trying and five days to get it started the first time. I even called the manufacturer’s hot line which was helpful but they said to me that this was a common problem.First a suggestion. Follow the directions but beware the flooding. Follow each step but you may have to do what I was told to do several times.Remove the cowling and remove the spark plug and turn the engine over to expel the excess fuel. Then clean the plug and let it dry. It may take time since the fuel mix with oil does not evaporate quickly, the oil is a surfactant and stays on the plug. Let the engine cool down then replace the plug, and start all over again. It took three times to get it to finally turn over. It finally turned over.It cuts well and seems to start well after the first almost impossible

Are factory chain-saw blades junk or is it me?
I bought a Husqvarna 455 Rancher and I love it as a first chainsaw. I notice though, that the Husqvarna Chainsaw Chains blade gets dull after a good amount of sawing. I purchase a file with a guide to resharpen, and have successfully sharpened it a few times. It seems to dull quicker than I would like. Do you think I am not sharpening it enough, or are factory chains junk? Thanks for answering.
