Guys, be honest with yourselves: how are you really going to use a chainsaw? If you’re eyeing a high-end Husqvarna or Echo because that’s what the lumberjacks and arborists use, I hear you. I love pro-grade tools, too. With chainsaws, though, you don’t necessarily get what you pay for.I’ve used gas chainsaws. They’re great for felling, limbing and bucking whole trees in places where electricity is unavailable or inconvenient. These days, though, I use a chainsaw no more than once or twice a year, usually for some little job that’s just barely beyond the capabilities of a bow saw. When those jobs come up, I can whip out my electric Poulan, finish the work, and put the saw away before you’ve even gotten the choke set on your gas saw. That’s not to say that this saw won’t handle a big job. It will. I had a couple of huge oaks taken down last winter, and saved a bunch of money by telling the arborists to do a “cut and run” – just drop the trees, chip the small brush, and leave the big logs
Poulan pro wood shark -bigger guide bar?-?
Is it possible to put a bigger guide bar on my poulan Poulan Chainsaw Carburetor Rebuild pro wood shark chainsaw? I heard it would burn up the carburetor if I attempt to, will it? It currently is equipped with the standard 14″ bar, if I can go bigger, how much, maybe only a 16″?

Chainsaw Parts Husqvarna 51
I owned a Ryobi unit which used a reciprocating saw trimmer. It got jammed and the gears stripped. Can’t get these any more. This unit works pretty well and the chain saw idea is pretty good. Mine had the chain tensioned too tight for my Ryobi and I had a tough time keeping the unit running without stalling the motor. After loosening the chain tension it worked much better. The strap is kind of useless and I can tell you your arms will get tired so take your time. Since you are always looking up here are some important safety tips: DON’T WORK ALONE, USE TIGHTLY SEALED SAFETY GOGGLES, BE SURE YOU HAVE GOOD FOOTING AND A CLEAR PATH TO MOVE QUICKLY IF THINGS START GOING WRONG. When you store the unit put in in a tray of some type since the chain cutting oil leaks when not in use. Very happy so far.

I’m a casual user and for around the house after the storms its made cleanup a breeze. Compared to similar makes my friends have its by far the best, but I won’t tell them that. Observations are it’s a little heavy and I was lead to believe it had the quick chain tensioning feature which it did not.
What’s wrong with our Husky 3120?
This is our second Husqvarna 3120 our business has been through. It’s a small operation and the 3120 is rarely ever used, still very clean in fact. The first one we had developed an air leak around 300 hours and seized the engine. Now, the second one, no longer under warranty and only with a couple hundred hours is also broken. Today while using it, it made a series of clangs (didn’t feel that rough though) and Chainsaws Husqvarna stopped. When looking in through the spark plug opening, the engine can be turned over using the starter pulley, but when it reaches the apex, the ONLY way to get it past it so use a saw wrench and a little muscle to turn it over, and when you do it makes a clank sound and abruptly goes past it. Then, it turns freely again until it gets back to the apex and jams. Also, we take excellent care of our equipment, we use Sthil’s, and Echo’s for climbing, and Husky’s for big saws. We have two Husky 372’s with insane hours on them for professional use chainsaws that run without ever a hiccup.Considering how much the 3120 costs, it’s getting really frustrating. Anyone know what kind of problem it has?ThanksOurs is a professional arbor care business that’s been going for nearly 30 years. It’s not something like gasoline, it’s something physical that’s hanging up the engine at it’s apex.
