This is a great buy – the chain is much better quality than one that came with Poulan saw

what’s the best– most reliable, long-lasting, guaranteed to start everytime– brand of chainsaws?
I heard Homelite Chainsaws somewhere that Stihl is the best. Is that true? How does it compare to Homelite?… to Husquavena? Echo? Does the brand name really matter? If so, what’s the difference, from one brand to another?

The bar seems to be fine, no problems. I wasn’t as impressed with the blade that came with it. It dulled really quick. I am cutting dead wood cleaning up my woods and the chisel blades seem to last longer with this type of cutting. I’ll sharpen the blade and use it on softer woods. But like I said the bar seems well made.

My chainsaw starts but stops later. Can Anyone tell me how to fix it?
It’s a Poulan 16″. What happens is, Poulan Chainsaw 16 Inch Bar I’ll start it up and it’ll work for about 1 minute before it stops. I can turn it on after it stops but it will just do the same thing over again. Does anyone know how we can fix it so it runs the full time?

Can anyone troubleshoot my chainsaw? It has issues…?
It’s a Poulan, I think 16″ bar. Awhile back the safety mechanism broke (always on and wouldn’t let the chain move) so I had to remove it. The bar is held in place with two nuts. They would always spin off and when I lost one had it replaced with what I thought was the same thread but now is stuck on. The chain loosens frequently so have to keep stopping Poulan Chainsaw Bar Parts and adjusting (with the good nut that still tightens). I’ve noticed the past two times when I add bar chain oil it just pours out the other side (there’s some opening) so I have to plug it with a finger to get it added. I have sharpened the teeth a couple of times with the correct tool but not sure if it is good enough.Ok, that’s the background, here’s the problem. When I cut the bar twists outward. By the time I finish the cut it’s around 45 degrees off. I have seen other chainsaws at work and they cut through logs like butter. Mine seems to go much slower. So is it a matter of dull chain or is it more? Not sure if the bar oil and safety clutch are related but wanted to give all the info. My main concern is if this twisting is a safety issue, but also need to make fast straight cuts. Thanks for any ideas.
