I have used oregon chains and bars for years. They have always tended to be of average or better quality. I was quite supprised that Oregon would allow their name of such a poorly engineered and shoddy product. When the guide is set up exactly as per instructions, the chain guide will not allow the chain to pass through the clamps. Had I bought this thing locally, it would have gone back the next day. Rather than go through all the return hassels through Amazon, I just decided to chalk it up to experience and eat it. I have decided that it is better to just pay a little more and buy some things locally than to buy from Amazon, sigh unseen and end up with a useless peice of crap. Save your $40 and just buy a plain old round file and hand guide. You will do a better job of sharpening and save some money too.

what are all the parts to a 49cc gas scooter engine?
im trying to Chainsaw Parts Coil build it from teh ground up since i cant get the whole thing at once(im good with engines).and i dont want to use a chainsaw motor.

I bought a new cub cadet chain saw so I thought I would get an extra chain. Amazon was pushing this one. Well when it came the box was different than the one shown, but the number was the same. When I went to put it on the chain was an inch too long. So I went to the local hardware store and looked at the oregon box….CUB CADET IS NOT EVEN LISTED ON THE BOX. The picture they show is either old or photo shopped. As i took so long to need it i am stuck with it. Thanks Amazon!

when did stihl put decompression valves on ms390?
I just bought a used stihl Stihl Chainsaw Ms390 Parts ms390 chainsaw and it doesn’t have a decompression valve. I was wondering in what year they started putting these on b/c the saw I bought looks nearly new

Shindaiwa 446s Chain adjustment?
Hi. I have a Shindaiwa 446s Chainsaw and I was wondering how I can adjust the chain. I typically can either raise, lower or slightly pull out on the bar as the chain stretches…. but they seem to stretch past the point of me being able to use them on the saw. I keep a very close eye Shindaiwa Chainsaw Parts on the chain lube too. I took one of my chains in for sharpening and asked him to take out a link but now I cant fit it on the saw as it is just slightly to short. Am I missing something simple on the chainsaw that would allow me to adjust more accurately? I am “relatively” new to chainsaw usage… but not that much. =) How long does a bar typically last? I bought the saw this winter and I have the same bar. I have used about 8 chains from sharp to dull in total on the bar.I noticed a “nut” under the cover but no way to adjust it. Is the adjusting screw in the “front” of the chainsaw? Flat head screwdriver screw?
