The first thing you should do is buy a Stihl chain for it as the factory Oregon (who makes the husky chains) is a skip link design, featuring fewer cutting teeth and dulls quickly.
In the event that you do remove the side covere with the brake on, which is comparatively difficult, you can make a three prong socket to reset the tension spring. This works much better than chasing a spring around the shop. Your local Husqvarna dealer has a reset tool that they can show you. Lowes might sell Husqvarna, but until they have a parts counter they are not a dealer in my opinion.
What’s wrong with our Husky 3120?
This is our second Husqvarna 3120 our business has been through. It’s a small operation and the 3120 is rarely ever used, still very clean in fact. The first one we had developed an air leak around 300 hours and seized the engine.Now, the second one, no longer under warranty and only with a couple hundred hours is also broken. Today while using it, it made a series of clangs (didn’t feel that rough though) and Husqvarna Chainsaws 350 Rancher stopped. When looking in through the spark plug opening, the engine can be turned over using the starter pulley, but when it reaches the apex, the ONLY way to get it past it so use a saw wrench and a little muscle to turn it over, and when you do it makes a clank sound and abruptly goes past it. Then, it turns freely again until it gets back to the apex and jams.Also, we take excellent care of our equipment, we use Sthil’s, and Echo’s for climbing, and Husky’s for big saws. We have two Husky 372’s with insane hours on them for professional use chainsaws that run without ever a hiccup.Considering how much the 3120 costs, it’s getting really frustrating. I bought this saw for my husband because I felt he needed a lighter weight saw since he uses one quite a bit on the farm and he isn’t getting any younger. He immediately tried out the saw (he was used to a 21″ cutting bar) and loeved it. To use his words”That saw cut through those trees like butter. He used it to clear fallen trees off our 375 acre farm and to do the “gin” work around our home. We had a very bad ice storm last winter and had many down trees to saw up to be moved. He loves the power and how easy it starts. He said to rate this 5 stars at least!
Can anyone help me with a chainsaw problem?
I have a Husqvarna 359 chainsaw. I had it for a few years. It worked fine, then within one tank of gas, I started having problems with it and by about half of a tank, the saw just quit. It’s acting like a fuel line leak. I choke the Husqvarna Chainsaw Gas Tank saw, it fires. I take off the choke, it starts, runs for about 2-3 seconds, it quits. I cleaned the carb (every thing is working like new, and yes I have the adjustment needles set properly). The carb’s diaphrahm is like new. I changed the fuel line and fuel filter. The air filter is clean. The fuel tank vent filter is still there. I even cleaned the piston rings (which were sticking). After all that, I still had the same problem.I took a small engine repair class and every engine I have touched works, but I am stumped with this saw.Any ideas?

I use this in my NH home on trees which I clear for expanding my daylily farm. I looked through the many options and bought this due to the reviews and the reputation of the company. But beware.It took seven hours of trying and five days to get it started the first time. I even called the manufacturer’s hot line which was helpful but they said to me that this was a common problem.First a suggestion. Follow the directions but beware the flooding. Follow each step but you may have to do what I was told to do several times.Remove the cowling and remove the spark plug and turn the engine over to expel the excess fuel. Then clean the plug and let it dry. It may take time since the fuel mix with oil does not evaporate quickly, the oil is a surfactant and stays on the plug. Let the engine cool down then replace the plug, and start all over again. It took three times to get it to finally turn over. It finally turned over.It cuts well and seems to start well after the first almost impossible

chainsaw trouble?
chainsaw starts but quits when i Husqvarna Chainsaw Filters give it throttle its a husqvarna model 55 rancher could it be the fuel filter or a dirty carburetor?
